We are OUTSTANDING writers...

Today we did some buddy writing about our story "Where The Wild Things Are". Our challenge was to use all the writing tools we have been learning about and create a "powerful paragraph". We included similes, adjectives, conjunctions and made sure to "show" the audience, not tell.

Check out our amazing writing, we sure are proud!

Today we used a really cool website to turn ourselves into Wild Things!

Here are some of our creations...

Get NZ Writing - our package is off!

Today we finished off our fantastic metaphor postcards, packed up our "Found" poster and sent it off to Cosgrove School in Auckland.

We have been taking part in the Get NZ Writing project, along with hundreds of other classes across NZ. We had to read The Iain Sharpe poem and create our own metaphors all about us. We then had to finish a "Found" poster which included lots of information about us and where we are from. For example we had to include a fact we know, 3 things that make us happy, 5 words we find interesting, 1 reason why where we live is the best place and many more.

Thanks to Brodie for helping hand the parcel over to the courier this morning! We can't wait to receive ours - who knows what exciting things we will learn!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

We hope you enjoyed the festivities today, we know we did! We learnt about claddagh rings, created our own leprechaun hats and even got to ice some biscuits in the famous Irish green!

Happy St Patrick's day to you all! May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Building blocks...

We have a new piece of equipment to use in the playground - GIANT JENGA! The boys had great fun giving it a go today, they even decided to create different frames with the blocks. Very cool!
