Making the most of the SUNSHINE!

Today was such a beautiful day that we decided to make the most out of the sunshine by turning Room 18 into an outdoor classroom. We did our Spelling, Writing, Reading groups and Maths groups all outside in the lovely fresh air!

Animal Art

This term's inquiry topic is "Survival of the Fittest", looking at how animals adapt to survive. Today we created some animal art to go alongside all our learning so far.

We used our hand prints to create all sorts of animals such as hedgehogs, peacocks, flamingos and giraffes!

As a fundraiser for the PTA, the school is running a competition for the class who can collect the most 10c coins.

At the moment, it is a tight race between Room 13 and Room 18. We have just passed $70 worth of coins, so keep 'em coming in and let's get to $100!!!

Belfast School's Fair - WHAT A DAY!

A BIG thank you to all those you came down and helped out at the fair today. It was an exceptional day, the sun was shining, everyone was having a fabulous time and we raised lots of money for the new piece of playground equipment.

A huge thank you to Carolyn Mason for heading the PTA and organizing such an incredible event.

Well done to those of you who managed to get a sponge thrown at Miss T's face! Good thing it was such a hot day!

Better Funding. Better Learning.

Today we had a visit from the NZEI "Better Funding, Better Learning" bus.

It is travelling around New Zealand gathering signatures to petition the new proposed Education Budget, which will have a huge effect on students' learning such as larger classes sizes etc.

Thank you to all those who signed the petition on their way into school. These wonderful boys were so eager to keep learning the way it is that they even asked to sign it themselves!
