Welcome to Sign Language Week 2016!

This week is the 10th anniversary of Sign Language being an official language in New Zealand.

This morning we were very lucky to have a lesson with Mrs K, who knows Sign Language. She taught us the alphabet and how to sign basic things like "My name is" and "It's nice to meet you". Miss T taught us how to say Good Morning, Good Afternoon and some other instructions we use in the classroom (like "line up", "sit on the mat" etc.).

This afternoon we had a silent challenge, where we had to try and use Sign Language for a whole 45 minutes! Boy it was difficult but we really enjoyed it! Charlie, Abigail and Hunter were our "Sign Champions" for today!
