Bricks, Bricks and more Bricks!!

This term, we are starting a new Basic Facts programme. It is called the Bricks programme. Students have already sat the test and received their first "brick". A brick has a specific group of questions that targets a certain learning outcome students need to practice.

For example,

Brick 8 is focusing on recalling "ten and" facts.

The aim of this programme is to develop instant recall. This means we only have 3 seconds to answer the questions. Everyone starts on their own brick that is best suited to their learning needs.

When we feel like we have learnt the brick, we can ask to be tested. Testing times are 8.45am -9am each morning and the first 5 minutes of morning tea and lunch. We can ask to be tested up to twice a day.

If we pass the brick, we move onto the next one. The aim is to try and move through as many bricks this term as possible. It would be great if you could help us to practice as much as possible at home.

If you have any questions about the new programme, please let Miss T know.
